This Canadian-market 1999 BMW M Coupe was purchased by the seller in 2023 and is powered by a 3.2-liter S52 inline-six linked with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Repainted in Ferrari Yellow over black Nappa leather upholstery, the car has been fitted with TCKline coilover suspension, a rear subframe reinforcement kit, an M-Tech II steering wheel, and a Bluetooth-capable Continental head unit. Additional features include 17″ Style 40 wheels, heated sport seats, air conditioning, and cruise control. This M Coupe is offered in Canada with manufacturer’s literature, service records, a US Carfax report, and British Columbia registration.
Finished from the factory in Estoril Blue Metallic, the car is said to have been involved in an incident prior to receiving an engine-out repaint in Ferrari Yellow in 2001. The seller reports that multiple associated claims were processed by the first owner between 2001 and 2002, and states that the second owner filed a separate claim related to a low-speed parking lot incident circa 2007. Exterior details include front fender vents, a rear window wiper, and quad exhaust outlets. Holes remain in the front and rear bumper covers from a previously installed body kit that has since been removed, and there is corrosion on the passenger door edge and paint chips around the body. Close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery below.
The 17″ Style 40 wheels are mounted with Michelin tires. The car is equipped with Automatic Stability Control, and TCKline coilover suspension, Garagistic trailing arm bushings, and Condor Speed Shop front control arm bushings were installed under current ownership. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs with stainless steel brake hoses. The tie rods were replaced in 2022, and the brake master cylinder, pads, and rotors were replaced in 2024.
The cabin features black Nappa leather covering the heated sport seats, door panel inserts, and center console. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, a Harman Kardon sound system, and a Continental head unit with Bluetooth connectivity. The seat bushings were replaced and the glove box was repaired in 2022. The seller notes squeaking and rattling during use, and reports that the one-touch window operation intermittently does not work.
The M-Tech II steering wheel features tri-color stitching and frames a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a 280-km/h speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 175k kilometers (~109k miles), approximately 5k kilometers of which were added under current ownership. A potential odometer rollback is noted in an April 2016 entry on the Carfax report, which the seller believes is a result of a clerical error.
The 3.2-liter S52B32 inline-six features VANOS variable valve timing and was factory rated at 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. The engine mounts, transmission mounts, water pump, thermostat, radiator hoses, valve cover gasket, and radiator fan were replaced in 2022, per the seller.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A rear subframe reinforcement kit, Double Shear Selector Rod (DSSR), and Powerflex subframe bushings have been installed, and the differential fluid and transmission fluid were changed in 2022.
The US Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage and lists the aforementioned potential odometer rollback, and the seller notes that the Canadian Carfax report lists various damage claims.
The vehicle is being sold on its British Columbia registration, which serves as the ownership document in British Columbia, Canada.

The car has a clean title but does have prior claims from the first owner. It was repainted in ~2000, likely during one of them. This changed the car from the original Estoril Blue to a variant of Dakar Yellow. Extremely comprehensive coverage of the engine-bay, door jambs, etc. While I wish the car was still the original Estoril Blue, the yellow shows very well.
I purchased the car from an enthusiast who had the opportunity to move onto an S54-powered M Coupe. I am selling as I have not had the time to drive it as much as I wished. It's not a concours/show car, but it is a clean and cared-for example of a 'clown shoe'. I'd have no issues jumping in and driving it across the country. Open to PPI's for serious buyers.
