Seller Description

You are looking at a very well sorted Z3 M Coupe. Over the last 3 years I have modified and improved on this car as I planned on keeping it forever. First and foremost is the engine swap. I purchased the Euro S50B32 engine from Bimmerworld ( www.bimmerworld.com ) at a price of $7800.00. This engine is rated at 321 horsepower and is the engine that the rest of the world had in the M coupe ( the US got the 240hp S52 motor ). The car is in excellent mechanical condition and almost perfect cosmetically except for a few scrapes on the front bumper and some minor curbing on one of the wheels. The car has the factory euro wiring harness so there are no spliced wires or any issues of compatibility. The car runs perfect and could easily live its life as a daily driver. I have changed the oil every 3k with Amsoil 5-40 synthetic oil and have all receipts for all the work on the car. The chassis of the car has just about 70k on it and the engine has about 60k on it.

List of modifications include : 18 inch BBS CH's wheels with almost new ( less than 1500 miles ) Bridgestone RE-11 tires, brand new euro brake rotors, UUC stainless steel brake and clutch lines, UUC short shift, TcKline coilovers ( less than 12k on them ) Ireland Engineering subframe bushings, 3.46 rear diff ratio with 25% lockup, Swaintech ceramic coated headers, B&B triflow cat back exhaust, Projector Z generation 1 HID lights with angel eyes, ECIS intake. All new radiator, hoses and fluids at time of the swap ( also did a fluid change recently too ). Mocal oil cooler, SPAL fan.

The car also has subframe and differential mount reinforcements that I had done to prevent the dreaded possibility of the rear diff mounts and subframe tearing apart ( this is well documented on the web about the weak diff and subframe of these cars )

My Comments

Sold 6/21/10 - Sold for $21,000 to my good friend Bob Epstein and already headed to the track at Spartanburg. I'm more than a little jealous :-). Have fun!

5/31/10 Update - Price drop to $23,000 and new photos. Getting even more tempting...

5/22/10 Update - Ebay auction ended with no bids at $19,000. Somebody buy this!

This is my personal favorite modified coupe currently listed. I really love this car. It's in immaculate condition, the color combination is great, and most importantly, it has a beautiful S50 engine. This was the 321hp engine offered to the rest of the world in 1999 and 2000. The current owner did the swap with no expense spared as well as a number of other very desirable modifcations. It is one of just a couple in the US with this engine. It's been listed on both AutoTrader and Ebay without selling (originally listed at $27,000 with high bid of $18,600). This is typically a high price for a 1999, but this is not a typical 1999 coupe. You could never build it yourself for this price. So tempting...
