Seller Description

Purchased in 2020. I have done the list below. It runs, shifts and drives great.  So mechanically it’s buttoned up, but the paint is obviously rough. I was using it as my daily driver.

The rear subframe/trunk fix was done by BMW years ago, and I have the receipts for it. The previous owner also welded in even more reinforcement braces.

-Basically brand new OEM coupe seats
-All new front and rear suspension and differential bushings
-H&R springs
-Bilstein struts
-UUC short shifter
-Illuminated ZHP shift knob
-OEM projector headlight modification with  “Skylar’s Skylightz” brackets
-Continental Bluetooth head unit
-CSF aluminum radiator
-OEM M oil cap
-New OEM sized subwoofer
-New tires
-SS brake lines
-New OEM windshield and seal
-New calipers, pads, rotors
-Brand new OEM M floor mats
-Headliner was redone when the windshield was out.
-Water pump, thermostat, coolant reservoir, hoses, sensors, etc
-New AGM battery (installed few weeks ago)
-Spark plugs, fluids, random sensors, etc.

The car has a clean Virginia title, but the CarFax says it was a total loss in 2015. The previous owner told me he hit a curb and ripped off the front lip and cracked the bumper. I’m sure the insurance company totaled it because the Bluebook value was probably real low. Also, the gauge cluster must have been replaced in 2008, because the mileage on the  CarFax jumped back 38k miles. So currently the cluster says 142k, but it’s probably more like 180k.

A/C blows cold, heating seats work, power seats work, sunroof works. It even has an OEM key fob that work to unlock the doors, but, but battery fell out, so I need to reprogram it.

The hood was repainted at some point, poorly, and the clear coat has been flaking off. The clear coat on the roof is also peeling, as well as a spot on the driver side. The front bumper is cracked.

It started throwing codes P1423 and P1421, which is just for the secondary air pump, which is only emissions related when cold and doesn’t affect how it runs. Since it’s over 25 years, emissions inspection is not required in Virginia.

A few of the socket holes in the back of the taillights are cracked and wonkey, so currently one of the bulbs doesn’t work.

It’s really a great “driver” quality M coupe that you can just drive as-is and enjoy.

It's definitely a driver, but it does have some nice, newer parts. There are questions about history and mileage, but the seller seems honest and up front with what he knows. It's going to need quite a bit of reconditioning. I really like the retrofit headlights, ZHP shif knob, fresh suspension, and all the other recent maintenance. The price seems fair to me.
