2001 BMW M Coupe / Z3 Mcoupe - S54 powered "clown shoe"
We are pleased to represent this fabulous 2001 BMW M Coupe, affectionately known by all of us gearheads as the "clownshoe" ! Final year example finished in the classic BMW Motorsports Imola Red with a vibrant matching Red and Black two tone leather interior! The M Coupe was the result of some passionate BMW engineers working afterhours without official BMW board and management approval, to put together the ultimate 2 seat driver's machine. Oh boy did they ever deliver! Blessed with a compact footprint thanks to the BMW Z3, the M division engineers added a meatier foot wear and an iconic wide track, making this car one of the most aggressively pronounced flared rear quarters ever offered on a production car. This updated, late production example is also fitted with the new at the time, S54 3.2L straight six powerplant from the legendary E46 M3, packing 315hp through a 5 speed manual transmission. Direct engine response and induction noises were courtesy of a factory set of six individual throttle bodies and BMW's Signature VANOS valvetrain system. With its compact size and prodigious power to weight ratio, this is one of the most engaging driver's cars offered by the marque in the past 50 years.
