Doug's Take
The BMW Z3 M Coupe is a seriously wonderful car, boasting excellent performance, and – most importantly – head-turning styling, combined with very interesting practicality thanks to a useful hatchback grafted onto a BMW Z3 M Roadster. The particular M Coupe touts a 5-speed manual transmission and low mileage, with fewer than 37,000 miles on the odometer. It also features some great modifications like a Dinan supercharger, Porsche-sourced front brakes, and an aftermarket exhaust, which should help make it even more thrilling to drive. Plus, this M Coupe is finished in gorgeous Estoril Blue – and it comes with a clean, accident-free Carfax report, for added peace of mind.
Highlights
THIS... is a 1999 BMW Z3 M Coupe, finished in Estoril Blue Metallic with a black and Estorial Blue interior.
- This Z3 M is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, and its odometer currently displays approximately 36,800 miles.
- The attached Carfax history report lists no accidents or mileage inconsistencies in this BMW's past.
- According to the build sheet provided in the gallery, factory equipment includes 17-inch Style 40 wheels, a limited-slip differential, a power sunroof, Nappa leather upholstery, heated and power-adjustable sport seats, air conditioning, and a Harman/Kardon sound system.
- Modifications reported by the seller include a Dinan supercharger kit, Porsche-sourced front brakes, H&R springs, aftermarket exhaust components, and silver exterior stripes.
- Colloquially known as the Clownshoe, the Z3 Coupe joined the Z3 roadster in showrooms for 1999. Like its convertible counterpart, it used several E36-sourced parts, but it stood out with an unusual, shooting brake-like silhouette that blurred the line between a coupe and a hatchback. The M model benefitted from the same 3.2-liter straight-6 as the M3.
- Power comes from a 3.2-liter straight-6, rated at 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque in stock form. With the aftermarket supercharger installed, it likely produces more power, but a dyno sheet was not provided to confirm. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
