Seller Description

I am the 4th owner of this M coupe.  The original owner was a US Army Apache helicopter pilot who took delivery and used the car while he was stationed in Germany.  The 1200 mile service was actually done by a German dealer, and the receipt is included!  I bought this car from an enthusiast in 2015, and I have detailed its maintenance and chronicles in the blog coupenut.blogspot.com  There you can read about literally every nut and bolt that has come off or been put onto this car.  When I bought the car it had Bilstein shocks and struts, but all factory springs and sway bars.  It does have a Strong Strut front strut brace.  Has original BMW accessory keyless entry/alarm system.  I have invested over $10k in parts and maintenance since I have owned this vehicle (see blog for exact costs and breakdowns).  Some basics: Arctic Silver over solid black leather.  About 60k miles (I am not with the car and cannot read the exact mileage to you at this time).  All body panels are original.  I am guessing, but I am not sure, that the front bumper has been repainted.  I base that guess on the fact that 2 plastic pop rivets are painted silver, and I don’t think they usually were painted by the factory, they should be black.  The VIN tag on the back of the bumper matches the car.  I replaced all of the suspension bushings on this car since I have owned it and it drives fantastically.  Randy Forbes did reinforce the rear subframe, and this was his 100th car; he signed the subframe accordingly.  The headliner is new.  Keys are new (I have a full compliment of all the correct ones), and from BMW, not aftermarket.  The audio system is new but the head unit is original.  I installed the ultra-rare factory passenger airbag cutoff switch in this car so my daughter could ride in it.  All the bulbs in the instrument cluster and center console (and the entire car for that matter) are new.  All of the shifter bushings are new.  Guibo is new.  All pedal bushings are new and upgraded.  The AC has been serviced and most components are new.  Car has very nice ceramic window tint, including on the glass roof panel.  All interior plastics and components there were cracked or not perfect in every way have been replaced with new.  Seat bushings are upgraded.  Floor mats are Cocomats with silver dots.  I put in a new, OE S54 chrome-ringed small auto dimming rear view mirror.  Car has LeatherZ armrests, shift and e-brake boots, and correct, orange-illumination shift knob.  Steering wheel has been recovered and thickened and is better than new.  I replaced the rear hatch glass with new OE BMW glass, as the blacked-out parts on the side were not perfect.  Car has perfectly-polished headlights that look new.  All 4 wheels were refinished in BMW Chrome Shadow by Jett Wheels in Charleston and the match to factory Chrome Shadow is impeccable.  Michelin Pilot Sport tires in original factory sizes.  Wiper arms have been repainted.  Rear hatch spoiler has been repainted.  Engine bay cowling is new.  Car has new belts, tensioner, and alternator.  I have all of the parts to replace every single hose in the engine bay along with a new OE BMW S54 radiator, new OE S54 oil filter housing, OEM S54 oil cooler, and all various valves (CCV, ICV, etc.) touching any and all of those hoses.  All parts are new, uninstalled, and included with the sale.  The driver’s seat bolster is in great condition, but if you want it to be perfect, I did collect a pair of nearly-new S54 gray/black M coupe seats and I did buy the factory connector converter (very rare part) that lets those seats bolt right into this car.  Those seats are included with the car.  Car was put into storage in July of 2018, and all fluids and filters were changed then, by me, very carefully.  I have a current Carfax you can inspect.  Things less than perfect on this car: there are 2 small dings above the B-pillar aft of the doors on each side.  Paintless dent cannot get them out, even with the headliner removed (I tried).  The cabin-facing acoustic seal in the brake booster is failing and this makes pushing the brake pedal louder than normal when you are stopped at idle; but performance is correct under all conditions.  There are chips in the front bumper and hood, and if you want the car to be perfect, it would not hurt to repaint them.  But if you don’t repaint, you can drive relatively care free and truly enjoy this car everyday.  There is a little paint bubbling on one of the side mirror bases.  I love this car and I love driving it.  It is far less nerve-wracking to drive and park than my S54, but it is every bit just as fun.

The work done on this coupe is very well detailed on his CoupeNut Blog. It has been very well sorted and is very clean. I think $28k seems like a decent deal given it's great condition, subframe reinforcement, and lots of recent maintenance. If you don't have Facebook, contact me and I can put you in touch with the seller.
