2000 BMW M Coupe in Dakar Yellow 2 over Black Nappa

  • Interior Color Black Nappa
  • Engine S52

Seller Description

This 2000 BMW M Coupe is finished in Dakar Yellow II over black leather and powered by a 3.2-liter inline-six mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Factory equipment includes a glass sunroof, air conditioning, Harman Kardon audio, and side airbags, with modifications consisting of window tint and XPEL paint protection film. The car was purchased by the seller in 2013 following time in Pennsylvania, New York, Texas, and New Mexico. Recent service included a VANOS rebuild, coolant and brake fluid flushes, an oil change, and replacement of the air conditioning compressor in 2019. This M Coupe is offered with factory literature, partial service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Kansas title in the seller’s name.

This M Coupe is reportedly one of 41 finished in Dakar-gelb II (337) and equipped with an S52 engine and a black leather interior. XPEL paint protection film has been applied to the hood, A-pillars, mirror caps, door cups, and rear fenders, while window tint has been added to the side and rear glass along with the sunroof. The lower front valance has been repainted due to scrapes according to the seller.

Factory 17” Style 40 wheels wear 225/45 Federal Super Steel 595 tires with 2011 date codes up front and 245/40 Yokohama AdvanSport A/S rubber from 2014 out back. Blemishes on the body and each wheel are pointed out by the seller in the gallery below. The rear shock mounts were replaced and the brake fluid was flushed in 2019.

Black Nappa leather covers the heated sport seats, and the interior features color-matching carpets and plastics. The seller reports replacement of the seat rail bushings, and the air conditioning system has been refreshed with a replacement evaporator core and compressor as well as a recharge with R134a refrigerant between 2018 and 2019. A black mat board has been fitted into the sunroof opening in an attempt to minimize heat gain.

The car retains a Harman Kardon stereo featuring a factory tape deck and a trunk-mounted CD changer, a lighted shift knob, and a steering wheel with tri-color BMW Motorsport stitching. Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, a fuel gauge, and a coolant temperature gauge in the main cluster along with three auxiliary gauges mounted in the center stack. Just under 57k miles are shown on the digital odometer, approximately 10k of which were added by the seller.

The 3.2-liter S52 inline-six produced 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque when new. The VANOS unit was rebuilt, a coolant flush and oil change were performed, and a replacement air filter was installed in 2019. The seller has provided a cold start video.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed ZF manual gearbox and a factory limited-slip differential. Additional photos of the underside, body panel VIN decals, and rear subframe welds can be viewed in the gallery below.

Factory literature and tools, XPEL warranty information, and partial service records are included in the sale.

The September 2019 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage with history in Pennsylvania, New York, Texas, New Mexico, and Kansas.

Sold to a high bid of just $23,000 or $24,150 with buyer fee. The buyer basically stole it.

Just posted on Bring a Trailer with no bids yet. We last saw this one way back in 2013. It still looks nice and stock besides the tint and Euro clear bumper lights. It will be fun to see what it goes for.
