This 2002 BMW M Coupe was modified between 2010 and 2012 by VAC Motorsports, who built its 700+ horsepower S54 inline-six with their Stage 3 cylinder head, camshafts, coated bearings, throttle bodies, oil pump, injectors, and pulleys. The engine also uses Arrow connecting rods, CP forged pistons, and a VFEngineering Stage 2 supercharger kit along with Supersprint headers, high-flow catalytic converters, and uprated cooling components, and it is linked to a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Supporting modifications include KW V3 coilovers, Brembo brakes, HRE wheels, and a five-point roll bar, which was mounted in the reupholstered interior along with a custom sound system and more as described below. The body was fitted with a Hartge carbon-fiber hood and Hamann front and rear spoilers before it was refinished in its factory shade of Imola Red. Since completion of the build, the car has been featured in multiple BMW-centric magazines and was awarded “Best Modified BMW” in the 2012 Bimmerfest Battle of the Bimmers. The car was purchased by the seller’s brother in 2004, and ownership later passed to the seller. Dubbed “EVIL BMR”, this M Coupe now has 81k miles and is offered in California with a clean Carfax report, a magazine feature and award, and an Arizona title.
The car was fitted with a Hartge vented carbon-fiber hood and a Hamann front and rear spoilers before it was repainted its factory shade of Imola Red. A flush-mount reverse camera is integrated into the rear plate, and the factory antenna was removed and the hole was filled. HID headlights have been retrofitted, and fog lights were also mounted along with smoked taillights.
The suspension has been modified with KW Variant 3 two-way adjustable coilovers, PowerGrid sway bar end links, uprated sway bars, VAC suspension bushings, and TCKline spherical rear shock mounts.
Brembo GT big-brake kits are mounted behind the fully polished 19″ HRE 595 three-piece wheels. The Michelin Pilot Sport rubber measures 265/35 up front and 305/30 out back.
The roll bar was painted to match the body, and the interior was redone with black leather, an Alcantara headliner and inserts, and red contrast stitching. Sound insulation was added below the carpeting, and the trim was color-matched to the exterior.
La Jolla Audio custom-built the sound system, which features the following components:
- Alpine IVA-W910BT head unit
- Alpine PXA-H701 processor
- Focal Utopia three-way front stage
- Alpine F#1 rear speakers
- JL Audio 10W6v2 subwoofer
- Alpine F#1 / ARC amplifiers
- Escort 9500ci Radar Detector with front and rear laser jammers
- FTM10R built-in Ham/track radio
- Flush iPhone mount
The flat-bottom carbon/leather wheel was added along with Defi gauges, a polished shift knob and handbrake lever, and AC Schnitzer pedals. The digital odometer indicates 81k miles.
VAC Motorsports built the 700+ horsepower S54 inline-six with their Stage 3 cylinder head, camshafts, coated bearings, ported throttle bodies, competition oil pump, injectors, and pulleys. The engine uses Arrow connecting rods, CP forged pistons, and a VFEngineering Stage 2 Vortech supercharger kit along with Supersprint headers and high-flow catalytic converters and an air-water intercooler. Two Bosch fuel pumps are used along with a Zionsville oversized radiator/oil cooler, and a carbon-fiber valve cover was installed as well. The build is documented on VAC’s website. According to the seller, the engine produced 740 horsepower on VAC’s Dynapack using 100-octane fuel.
A Tilton triple-disc VAC custom clutch package was also installed along with weld-in chassis reinforcements, a Dinan differential upgrade, VAC differential bushings, and a Meisterschaft GT rear exhaust system.
The car has been featured in multiple BMW-centric magazines and was awarded “Best Modified BMW” in the 2012 Bimmerfest Battle of the Bimmers.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage.
The Arizona title is a duplicate. The car has not been inspected by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair since the modifications were performed.

VEHICLE OVERVIEW
This is “EVIL BMR,” a one-of-a-kind 2002 BMW M Coupe — 1 of 678 S54-powered U.S. models — and the result of a no-expense-spared, 740HP supercharged build carried out by VAC Motorsports, VF Engineering, La Jolla Audio, Amato’s Auto Body and HRE
Designed to be the ultimate street-legal, track-capable M Coupe that could run on the stock DME with catalytic converters, the car pushes the boundaries of what’s possible with a factory-ECU platform. It made 740 BHP on VAC’s Dynapack using 100-octane fuel and 695 HP on a conservative map, with a refined 91-octane tune also available. The build was featured in Performance BMW Magazine, and the car took 1st Place at BimmerFest 2012. The trophy comes with the car.
