This 2000 BMW M Coupe was first registered in California and has remained in the state following the seller’s acquisition in 2013. Work since 2023 included replacing the radiator, water pump, thermostat, expansion tank, heater valve, fan clutch, shock absorbers, rear strut mounts, axle shaft flanges, and inner tie rods. The car is finished in Cosmos Black Metallic over black Nappa leather and is powered by a 3.2-liter S52 inline-six linked with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. It rides on 17″ style 40 wheels and is further equipped with a sunroof, heated sport seats, an alarm system, a Pioneer head unit, a Harman Kardon sound system, air conditioning, and cruise control. This E36 M Coupe has 160k miles and is now offered at no reserve with partial service records, BMW-branded roof rails, a Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
This M Coupe is one of 146 finished in Cosmos Black Metallic over black Nappa leather for the North American market for the model year. Features include a sunroof, front fender vents, a rear window wiper, and quad exhaust outlets. Damage reports are listed on the Carfax report in November 2013, December 2017, and October 2019, and the seller tells us that the hood and front and rear bumper covers were repainted as a result. The rear spoiler has also been refinished, and imperfections are noted on the hood.
The 17″ Style 40 wheels are mounted with 225/45 front and 245/40 rear Sumitomo HTR A/S P03 tires showing 2023 date codes. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. The car rides on Bilstein shock absorbers that were installed in April 2025, and additional work performed included flushing the brake fluid along with replacing the rear strut mounts, axle shaft flanges, and inner tie rods.
The cabin features black Nappa leather covering the heated sport seats, door panel inserts, and center console. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, an alarm system, a Pioneer head unit, and a Harman Kardon sound system. The trunk lid support struts were replaced in preparation for the sale, at which time the hatch latch was repaired.
The M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel features tri-color stitching and frames a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a 160-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. An analog clock and additional readouts for monitoring oil pressure and voltage are mounted in the center stack. The seller notes that the traction control light illuminates intermittently. The digital odometer indicates 160k miles, approximately 70k of which have been added under current ownership.
The 3.2-liter S52B32 inline-six features VANOS variable valve timing and was factory rated at 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. The radiator, water pump, thermostat, expansion tank, heater valve, and fan clutch were replaced in September 2023, and an oil change was carried out in preparation for the sale. The car most recently passed a California emissions test in July 2024.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The Carfax report shows the aforementioned accident reports.
