This 1999 BMW M Coupe has remained registered in Georgia with one owner since new, and it is powered by a 3.2-liter S52 inline-six linked with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Finished in Cosmos Black Metallic over black Nappa leather upholstery, the car has an optional powered glass sunroof, 17″ Style 40 wheels, heated sport seats, a CD stereo, a Harman Kardon sound system, air conditioning, and cruise control. This M Coupe is now offered on dealer consignment with a window sticker, marque literature, an owner’s manual, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title.
This M Coupe is one of 277 examples finished in Cosmos Black Metallic over black Nappa leather for the North American market for the model year. Exterior details consist of a powered glass sunroof, front fender vents, a rear window wiper, and quad exhaust outlets. The selling dealer tells us the front bumper cover was replaced, and the hood and front of the driver’s door were repainted in 2006 following contact with tire debris on a highway. There is a dent in the front section of the right rocker panel, denting present on the passenger door, and paint chips are present on the front end. Paint meter readings are viewable in the gallery below.
The 17″ Style 40 wheels are mounted with staggered-width Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires that show 2021 production codes. The car is equipped with Automatic Stability Control, and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. The brake pads, rotors, and wear sensors were replaced in September 2024, and a replacement brake master cylinder was installed in November 2024.
Black Nappa leather covers the heated sport seats, door panel inserts, and center console, and amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, a rear cargo partition net, a retractable cargo area cover, a CD stereo, and a Harman Kardon sound system. Portions of the headliner are sagging.
The M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel features tri-color stitching and frames a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a 160-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. An analog clock and an oil pressure gauge are mounted in the center stack. The digital odometer indicates 109k miles. The selling dealer tells us the oil pressure gauge sometimes needs to be tapped to register an accurate reading.
The 3.2-liter S52B32 inline-six features VANOS variable valve timing and was factory rated at 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. Work at 107k miles included an oil change and replacing the power steering reservoir and suction hose as well as the air conditioning recirculation switch, battery, and filters. An oil leak is present around the oil pan area.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The fluids for the clutch hydraulic, transmission, and differential were changed in March 2022.
The window sticker lists initial delivery to Global Imports of Atlanta, Georgia, along with factory equipment, colors, options, and a total suggested retail price of $42,670.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration history in Georgia since new.
