Issues:

  • Slight notchiness going into third gear.
  • The paint gauge report does show some areas being painted (this would have happened very early in the M Coupe’s life).
  • Unrelated to this, there is minor damage on the Carfax due to being tapped on the rear bumper when a traffic light turned green on the drive home in West Virgina. The damage was superficial at best, and I had it repainted back in Colorado.
  • There is one small area where the paint lifted and was matched on the front of the hood. It was touched up and is visible in the right light under the Xpel clear film.
  • There is a small impression on the passenger side rocker from offloading from a tow truck when I got a flat tire years ago. It’s only visible from underneath or at extremely low angles.

This is my personal M Coupe. I’ve owned it since January 2007, and 25,000 miles. It was genesis, the car that started it all for me and Glen Shelly, and the only car I ever really wanted. I searched for two years to find it, from 2005 to 2007, and stumbled on it at a small dealer in Manassas, Virginia. He had received it wholesale from Fairfax BMW, who had taken it as a trade-in, but they didn’t want to list it because he still had a bad taste from selling them new in 2002 despite the premiums, they were pulling in 2007. I was the first person to call, and the dealer in Manassas held it for me for a week. I bought it in Colorado, and it has been my legacy car ever since. The decade of the aughts was a glorious time to own a clown shoe and you can see my progress with the car under my handle, Cloudbase, on the Z3 group in Bimmerforums.com. Later it was featured in the If the Shoe Fits, It Must Be a BMW M Coupe episode of Petrolicious and the sequel Alter Ego video on the Glen Shelly Auto YouTube channel. I’ve used it as a fun weekend car, a DE car that I came up through the BMW club with, and a NASA TT car. All stock parts are included, and no permanent modifications were made. I can put it perfectly back into stock or sell it in any configuration in between.

I've known this coupe as long as I've known Alex which is about 15 years. I've driven it multiple times and it even lived in my garage for a little while during a time he was helping me with one of my project coupes. I've also followed it through the local canyons many times as well as caravaning home from Dorkfest. You won't find a better sorted street/track car. It's full of great upgrades including Randy Forbes coated rod bearings, SuperSprint exhaust, amazing MCS 3-way remote reservoirs coilovers, 3.73 diff, Apex wheels, and much more. I'm assuming more photos will be incoming. I really wish he didn't need to sell it but such is life. If you want it, get it quick before he figures out a way to keep it. The price is $75k for everything as it sits plus stock parts or $60k put back to full stock.
