Seller Description

This 2000 BMW M Coupe is finished in Cosmos Black Metallic over black leather and is powered by  3.2-liter inline six mated to a five-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. Modifications include an AC Schnitzer exhaust system, H&R lowering springs, a MOMO steering wheel, an aftermarket rear spoiler, and a Dinan ECU chip, cold air intake, throttle body, strut tower brace, and sway bars. The car was sold new at Sam Swope BMW of Louisville, Kentucky, and was acquired by the seller in 2014. This M Coupe is offered with service records, original sales documents, a Carfax report, and a Florida salvage title in the seller’s name.

Approximately 2,858 M Coupes were produced over a five-year run, and this example is finished in Black Cosmos Metallic. Features include an aftermarket hatch-mounted rear spoiler, M-branded side vents, a sunroof, tinted windows, arched fenders, and dual AC Schnitzer oval exhaust finishers. The Carfax report notes “severe damage” as a result of a front-end collision with another vehicle in June 2001, and a salvage title was issued in August 2001. The seller states that repairs involved replacement of the front clip and paintwork.

Staggered-width 17″ Style 40 wheels wear 225/45 front and 245/40 rear Bridgestone Potenza tires. H&R lowering springs were installed in 2000 along with Dinan front and rear sway bars. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes, and the seller states that a brake fluid flush was performed in 2021.

The cabin features seats upholstered in black leather along with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include a BMW Business CD stereo, cruise control, air conditioning, and power windows and locks. An aluminum shift knob and AC Schnitzer pedal set have been installed. The seller states that that the headliner is in need of replacement and the rear hatch remote lock does not work.

An aftermarket MOMO steering wheel frames a silver-bezeled gauge cluster that houses a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. Auxiliary instrumentation located in the center stack includes an analog clock and gauges for voltage and oil temperature. The digital odometer shows 42k miles, approximately 13k of which were added by the seller. The Carfax report notes that the airbags deployed during the 2001 accident.

The 3.2-liter S52 inline-six was modified in 2000 with an AC Schnitzer exhaust system in addition to a Dinan ECU chip, cold air intake, throttle body, and airflow meter. A Dinan front strut tower brace has also been installed, and the seller states that service in 2021 included an oil change and replacement of the spark plugs.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional underside photos can be viewed in the gallery.

The Carfax report shows the aforementioned accident in 2001 as well as rebuilt and salvage history in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Florida.

I remember this coupe from nearly 8 years ago. It has a lot of original M Coupe modifications you don't see as often anymore like the ACS exhaust and Mom steering wheel. The salvage title is the big downside, but that always means the car will be a great, guilt-free driver. Bidding up to $6,000.00 so far.
