Seller Description

This 2002 BMW M Coupe is one of 41 examples produced from 2001-2002 in Imola Red over black and Imola Red Nappa leather, and power comes from a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes a sunroof, staggered-width 17″ Style 40 wheels, cruise control, heated seats, and a CD stereo hooked to a Harman Kardon audio system. The car was first delivered to Century West BMW in North Hollywood, California, and it was acquired by the selling dealer following its sale on BaT in 2019. It now has just under 4,500 miles, and fluid services were performed in preparation for the sale. This M Coupe is now offered in Texas with manufacturer’s literature, a window sticker, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.

The bodywork is finished Imola Red and equipment includes a sunroof, a rear wiper, and quad exhaust outlets. Touched-up stone chips are noted on the front bumper and hood, and the Carfax report shows no accidents or other reported damage.

Staggered-width 17″ Style 40 Roadstar wheels wear Michelin Pilot Sport tires that measure 225/45 up front and 245/40 out back. Each wheel is pictured close up in the gallery below.

The interior features seating surfaces upholstered in Imola Red leather with black inserts, and matching upholstery covers the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, heated seats, a lockable glovebox, and a BMW Business CD stereo with a Harman Kardon audio system.

The M-branded steering wheel features tri-color stitching, a leather wrap, and Imola Red accents, and it frames a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges. An analog clock, ambient temperature gauge, and oil temperature gauge are located in the center stack beneath the climate controls. The digital odometer indicates just under 4,500 miles.

The 3.2-liter S54 inline-six was factory rated at 315 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque. The selling dealer states that fluid services were performed in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Standard equipment includes Dynamic Stability Control, which can be toggled on and off via a button mounted ahead of the shifter boot. Additional photos of the underside are available in the gallery below.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to Century West BMW in North Hollywood, California, equipment and colors, and a total suggested retail price of $45,935. Manufacturer’s literature is also included in the sale and shown in the gallery below.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration and service history in California from new through the most recent entry in June 2008.

Reserve not met at $81,500. I think people just assumed the reserve would be too high.

I wondered when we'd see this one on Bring a Trailer again. Bidding up to $61,000 already

Asking prices have been removed, but it was previously listed at $114,900, so I left it to give you some direction.

We probably all remember this coupe from it's epic Bring a Trailer auction about a year and a half ago. Unsurprisingly it has only 50 new miles in all that time. THere's a little precedent for the asking price, but it still seems optimistic to me.
