Seller Description

Up for sale is my 2002 BMW M Coupe with just under 73,000 miles. Exterior color is Titanium Silver Metallic with an interior of Black Nappa. This car is only 1 of about 340 built in 2002, also the last year produced. It was the first Z3 M Coupe for the year 2002 (Born 9/16/2001) with only about 2500 total built for all years of this model. When it was ordered from the dealer it also had the Dinon S1 package installed. Factory horsepower was 315, but with the Dinon S1 package added (Stage 2 Engine Software, SS Exhaust with dual mufflers) it should be a bit over that.

Previous Listing:
2002 BMW M Coupe w/ 72k miles.

Anyone who knows this model knows its the last year they made the Z3 M Coupe, and this one was the first one to be VIN'd as a 2002. Yes this is the first Z3 M Coupe for the year 2002 (Born 9/15/2001). When it was ordered from the dealer it also had the Dinon S1 package installed. This was a $4000 option back in 2001, it included the following items: Adjustable (front only) Koni shocks with matched performance springs, Strut Tower brace, Stage 2 Engine Software, SS Exhaust with dual mufflers. Original owner claimed car now has 350hp, I think it's more in the range of 340 based on the items added. I was hoping to dyno it someday, just have not done that yet. I've added a few things myself: Window tint all around, Performance Rear Shock mounts, still rubber, but much better strength (one was blown when I purchased the car). iPod/iPhone connector to CD changer, so now the CD changer works an iPod/iPhone. CD in dash still works if you want to use it. Aftermarket alarm with two keys. Remote door locks was the only thing I did not like about this car, so I fixed that right away. Light weight flywheel (7lbs) and performance clutch, gives more HP to the wheels in the lower gears. Something like 28 more in first, 18 more in second and so on. I still have the original dual flywheel (extremely heavy) and clutch which is still got a lot of good miles left on it. I spent 3 years locating the right car for me when I found this jem; I've owned it for just under 5 years now and I've love every minute driving it. Now I'm ready to move on to something else maybe just as fun and rare, I'm just not sure yet what that is. I also have too many forms of transportation (truck, car, & 2 motorcycles, not counting the wife's car).
The couple is locked in the garage all the time except to get a washing and occasional drive to work or for a fun run down some nice twisty country road.

That's all the good stuff about the car now for the known items of disappointment. Like most driven cars, it has some chips and scratches on the paint. Nothing major or worth pointing out except the scratches by the door where the seat belt has a tendency to lay if you are not careful when you close the door. I did have the front air dam repainted by a top notch body shop. It had some major curb rash from one of the previous owners. The wheels are not in the best shape, not much curb rash but the smoke film that are on them seems to be in bad shape. Again something the previous owner told me about but neither one of us took the time to fix it. I think it can be fixed, we just don't have anyone around here that claims they can do it. The one guy we do have insists BMW never produced such a wheel.

Asking price is $27500, will part with it when the next owner decides they need to come pick it up. If you are seriously interested, email me
I will post pictures as soon as the forums let me.

Back on the market after almost an entire year off. Mileage is only up 1,000 to 73,000. Price reduced to $25,900 from $27,000 which is a decent deal these days.

My database says it was built on 9/16/2001, but it does match VIN LK61000 which is pretty cool. Interestingly, it was actually built before the final 9 2001 model year coupes. It seems to be in pretty good overall condition and also has factory foglights. No interior photos have been posted yet.
