Seller Description

This 1999 BMW M Coupe has 31k miles from new and a clean Carfax. The drivetrain is stock but the car has several modifications including a Brembo big brake kit, H&R Lowering Springs and BBS RS-GT wheels. Finished in Imola Red with a matching interior, this swift shooting brake cuts a distinctive profile and shows well inside and out with original paint and original VIN stickers still in place. The car has had a PPI in preparation for sale detailed below, and it is sold with a clean Nevada title.

Sitting low and wide over staggered BBS RS-GT multi-piece wheels, this M Coupe still appears to show a good level of finish throughout. Per the seller the wheels were recently refinished, and the only non-original body panels are stock side grilles, which replace Hamman items. The fitted BMW M-badging is likewise new and OE. There are no dents and no rust, but some minor chips are noted. Paint has been verified with a thickness gauge and shows well overall.

The two tone Imola Red and Black leather interior still shows very well, and apart from a European e36 M3 steering wheel appears very stock. The original steering wheel is included. Red Cocomats have been fitted and match the interior color scheme nicely. The driver’s seat shows little wear, and the seller states that the passenger’s seat has been used very seldom.

No engine modifications are noted, and the only obvious underhood change from stock is an unobtrusive strut tower bar. The seller recently had the strut tower bar re-powdercoated in black, and all of the stock equipment appears to be in very good condition overall.

Following a recent PPI completed by the seller, the car received a new power steering hose, engine mounts, and upper strut mounts. An oil and filter change was also completed at the time of the PPI.

The Brembo Big Brake Kit requires 18″ wheels for clearance. The stock wheels have not been retained and they would not clear the fitted brakes. An H&R lowering spring kit has been fitted, and no other modifications are noted. The car comes with service records for the car prior to the seller’s ownership, plus the original owners manual, books and the pictured fitted car cover.

Sold to a high bid of $29,500 or $30,975 with buyer fees. I think it was a pretty good deal for the buyer.

I love seeing coupes on Bring a Trailer auctions. I remember this one from a couple years ago. The wheels are a different color and the Hamann side gills are gone, but it still looks just as nice. There's more information on the nice upgrades in the previous sales listing. I look forward to seeing what it goes for. Bidding is currently at $20k.
