Seller Description

This 1999 BMW M Coupe was initially sold in Michigan, moved to California in 1999, sold on BaT in October 2022, and then purchased by me on Cars & Bids in December 2024.. It is finished in Boston Green Metallic over Dark Beige Oregon upholstery and is powered by a 3.2-liter S52 inline-six linked with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes 17″ Style 40 wheels, a sunroof, air conditioning, cruise control, and a Harman Kardon sound system. Work under current ownership included replacing the heating control panel baseplate, replacing rubber brake lines, replacing the front tires, new coolant, replacing the stock radio, installing the voltmeter, fixing airbag error, and fixing the glovebox sag. This M Coupe has 144k miles and is offered with period brochures, recent service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.

This M Coupe is one of 60 cars finished in Boston Green Metallic over Dark Beige Oregon upholstery for the North American market for the model year. Features include front fender vents, a sunroof, a rear window wiper, and quad exhaust outlets. The front bumper and right rocker panel were refinished under previous ownership, the right hood vent is loose, and the seller notes blemishes on the right side of the rear bumper cover.

Shadow-finished 17″ Style 40 wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires. The car is equipped with Automatic Stability Control, and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. A solid steering rack flex disc is reportedly installed.

The heated sport seats are upholstered in Dark Beige Oregon upholstery. Appointments include air conditioning, cruise control, and a Harman Kardon sound system. The headliner is said to have been replaced, the speaker cover on the passenger door is loose and the rear speaker cover is missing.

The M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel features tri-color stitching and frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, battery voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 144k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. The steering wheel has some wear.

The 3.2-liter S52B32 inline-six was factory rated at 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque and features VANOS variable valve timing.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A braided stainless-steel clutch line is installed, and the transmission mounts were replaced in 2023.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Michigan, California, and Colorado.

I know this coupe well as it's been to my house several times since being purchased locally late last year. It drives very well, and I've helped the current owner make it even better. You'll notice the new lack of glovebox sag, the addition of the missing factory voltmeter, the stock radio, and more. The listing uses the same photos as the previous listing (with permission) with the addition of a few updated photos at the end showing the changes as well as documentation of other recent dealer work. If I didn't already have a Project Coupe, I definitely would have brought this coupe home. I love the color combo, and it doesn't show it's higher mileage. It'll make someone a great and unique driver. I think it's priced very well too.
