Seller Description

This 2001 BMW M Coupe is powered by a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission and is finished in black over black Nappa leather. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a sunroof, heated sport seats, a CD stereo, a Harman Kardon sound system, air conditioning, and cruise control. Modifications include KW V1 coilovers, 18″ WORK Meister S1 wheels, microsuede-wrapped interior trim, Bluetooth connectivity, and a ZCP-style shift knob. The car has remained registered in California since it was new, and the seller purchased it in 2019 and has since added approximately 2k of the 74k indicated miles. This M Coupe is now offered with a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, service records, a car cover, removed factory parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

This M Coupe is one of 43 that left the factory finished in Black Sapphire Metallic over black Nappa leather for the North American market for the model year, and the seller notes that the car was repainted in its current shade of black under previous ownership. Features include an electric glass sunroof, front fender vents, a rear window wiper, and quad exhaust outlets. A paint correction was reportedly performed in April 2023, and the seller notes a chip in the windshield, stone chips on the hood, and a chip on the left rocker molding.

The 18″ WORK Meister S1 multi-piece wheels are mounted with Nitto tires measuring 225/40 up front and 275/35 out back. KW Suspensions V1 coilovers are fitted, and the car is equipped with Dynamic Stability Control and All-Season Traction (AST). Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. The upper strut mounts were reportedly replaced in July 2019 and the power steering fluid pressure hose is said to have been replaced in April 2023.

The cabin features black Nappa leather covering the heated sport seats, door panel inserts, and center console. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, a CD stereo, and a Harman Kardon sound system. Interior modifications include a ZCP-style shift knob, microsuede-wrapped trim, Bluetooth connectivity, and an aftermarket center armrest.

The M-branded microsuede-wrapped steering wheel features tri-color stitching and frames a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline, a 170-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 74k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.2-liter S54B32 inline-six features double-VANOS variable valve timing and a Siemens MSS 54 engine management control system. Output was factory rated at 315 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Records indicate that the drive belts, tensioner, and pulleys were replaced in February 2020, and the oil was most recently changed in April 2023.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The window sticker lists factory equipment, colors, options, and a total suggested retail price of $46,135.

The removed factory wheels and suspension components are included in the sale along with manufacturer’s literature, a car cover, and service records.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration history in California since new. The car most recently passed a California emissions inspection in May 2023.

I've always liked this coupe and the Work Meister wheels are super rare and look great. I also like the alcantara highlights in the interior including an alcantara ZHP shift knob. Bidding up to $30,007.00 so far.
