Seller Description

This 2002 BMW M Coupe was first delivered to Classic BMW of Richardson, Texas, and has spent most of its life in Texas and California. It is powered by a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission and is finished in Estoril Blue over Estoril Blue and black Nappa leather. Equipment includes 17″ Style 40 wheels, a limited-slip differential, a BMW Business CD stereo, a Harman Kardon sound system, and cruise control. The seller acquired the car in 2007, and service performed in 2021 included an air-conditioning system recharge, fluid changes, and a replacement battery and clutch pedal bushings. This non-sunroof M Coupe has 17k miles and is now offered with a window sticker, owner’s manuals, service records, spare parts, a tool kit, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

This M Coupe is one of approximately seven non-sunroof examples finished in Estoril Blue over Estoril Blue and Black Nappa leather for the model year. Features include front fender vents, a rear window wiper, and quad exhaust outlets. The fender liners were replaced in 2016. Photos showing paint meter readings are presented in the gallery.

Shadow Chrome 17″ Roadstar wheels are wrapped in 225/45 front and 245/40 rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires showing 2021 date codes. The car is equipped with Dynamic Stability Control, and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. Replacement wheel bearings and brake rotors and pads were fitted in 2016, and a brake fluid flush was performed in 2021.

The cabin features Estoril Blue and black Nappa leather covering the heated sport seats, door panel inserts, and center console. Amenities include cruise control, a BMW Business CD stereo, and a Harman Kardon sound system. The door and trunk sills were replaced in 2016, and the air-conditioning system was recharged in April 2021.

The M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel features tri-color stitching and frames a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline, a 180-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 17k miles, approximately 4k of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.2-liter S54B32 inline-six features double-VANOS variable valve timing and a Siemens MSS 54 engine management control system. Output was factory rated at 315 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Service performed in 2021 included an oil change, a coolant flush, and a replacement battery.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller notes that the undertray has been replaced. Replacement axle seals were fitted in 2016, and service in 2021 included fluid changes for the transmission and differential as well as the installation of replacement clutch pedal bushings. The underbody photos are dated from April 2021, additional examples of which can be viewed in the gallery.

The window sticker shows initial delivery to Classic BMW of Richardson, Texas, and lists factory equipment, colors, and a total suggested retail price of $45,635.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other damage and shows registration history in Texas and California.

Sold to a high bid of $101,000 or $106,000 with buyer fee. I hope the new owner still shares it with the rest of us.

This is a coupe I know very well from an owner I know very well. Not exaggerating (and a lot of people will back me up on this), it's probably one of the cleanest M Coupes in existence. I've probably seen 8-900 M Coupes in person, and this one is the nicest. It has spent time at the BMW CCA Museum and also tied for 1st in the huge Legends of the Autobahn Concours. I've been all over this car, and it's pretty much flawless. That it's a sunroof-delete S54 is just icing on the cake. Bidding already up to $78,888.00 as it should be.
