This is the M Coupe you’ve been waiting for. Produced among the earliest of the 1999 model year, this head-turning 1999 BMW M Coupe was purchased in 2004 with 42,443 miles on it. Residing in the Boston area since then, it has been painstakingly well-kept and spends November–April in storage to avoid salt, ice, and Boston drivers. Dubbed “Little Beast” for a reason, this five-speed manual coupe runs amazingly and you’ll never tire of how fun it is to drive.
Sporting a lustrous Imola Red exterior, the car underwent paint correction in June 2020 to achieve its vibrant shine (and no swirls), and an additional two coats of CQuartz ceramic coating were applied to the entire exterior. The coupe’s black leather interior is in good condition and features the factory power-adjustable and heated sport seats, with minor wear on the driver’s side bolster.
The following features have been updated, upgraded, or replaced by highly reputable shops in the New England area, including Bavarian Performance Group, Ace Performance, and Turner Motorsports:
- Randy Forbe’s reinforcement subframe kit w/new subframe (12/2017)
- Dual-ear 3.46 differential (12/2017)
- Subframe mounts (12/2017)
- AKG engine mounts (12/2017)
- AKG rear subframe bushings (12/2017)
- Control arms and tie rods (12/2017)
- New master cylinder (12/2017); stainless steel brake lines
- 130db Train horn
- Rogue Engineering rear-shock-mounts
- Bilstein/H&R suspension
- H&R front and rear sway bars
- VMR710 18” wheels (OEM Roadstars available)
- New clutch / flywheel (05/2016)
- Replaced guibo
- Aftermarket Sony head unit
- Replaced OEM battery
A new fan clutch cooling assembly will be installed (08/2021) and it will have an annual oil change prior to delivery. Realistically, the sub-woofer may need upgrading given its age and sound. The coupe will come with two sets of original keys, factory paperwork, a front car bra (for travel), a new OEM voltmeter with purchase (early productions came equipped with a blank), and a clean title. It can also come with a Thule roof-rack system if the new owner would like, with all original mounting hardware
This hard-to-find coupe is hard to let go, but it’s just time for me to pass the torch, given lifestyle changes. Hopefully this quirky coupe can go to a good enthusiast home!
