Seller Description

2002 M Coupe.  Steel Gray/Black.  S54 (30K miles on a built 3.5L Stroker), with a long list of performance modifications.  After driving an S52 Coupe for 3 years, I bought this S54 in Jan 2007.  It has been my daily driver since then - runs great, looks great, but I really have in itch for a 911 Turbo.

First, let’s get mileage straightened out.  The engine has just over 29,000 miles, the odometer shows 183,5xx.  So this is an enthusiast car, not a garage queen collector.  Don’t let those miles scare you from a maintenance perspective - it is my daily driver and I have been meticulous about both upkeep and preventive maintenance.  I have detailed records and am happy to share with anyone genuinely interested in the car.  It will probably cost less to maintain going forward than a car with far fewer miles.
A comprehensive list of upgrades is attached in the pictures, but highlights in addition to the engine rebuild include:

  • 6 speed with 3.73 diff
  • Bimmerworld CSL plenum; OEM Euro M3 CSL headers; SS section 1 with high flow cats; SS mufflers (I have original intake/plenum)
  • TCK D/A suspension, 500 # front, 600 # rear; TCK camber plates; HR front and rear sway bars; Strong Strut front strut brace;
  • Randy Forbes personal handiwork on the trunk/subframe reinforcement
  • Zionsville S54 Competition radiator and high capacity oil cooler

The engine was rebuilt in 2014 at 154K miles (details in mod attachment).  3.5L Stroker with forged crank and Schrick 280/272 cams.  Alpha-N tune is by Randy Mueller at Epic Motorsports, dyno was 353 rwhp and 275rwtq, which is 415hp and 323 tq at the crank vs stock 315 and 251.  (There is more there via performance cams and exhaust if that is important to you.)  Combined with 3.73 diff, the car is very fast compared to a stock S54.  And the sound as the rpms climb is beyond awesome.  Cruising at 80 mph is 3370 rpm, in the same range as a stock 5

speed with 3.15 diff.  I recently gave a ride to a guy with a stock E46 M3; his comment was, “I will never be able to like my car again.”
The car is cosmetically in very good shape inside and out, with some expected wear on the driver seat bolster.  Although the CarFax is clean, there was front end damage in 2012, professionally repaired such that no one looking at or working on the car is aware unless I tell them.
Recent maintenance items that might be of interest:

  • Full Dr. Vanos rebuild with D300 exhaust hub and new solenoid
  • Intake and exhaust cam sensors
  • Alternator and starter
  • Differential carrier and pinion bearings
  • Rear axles along with drive shaft center support and u-joint
  • Rear subframe bushings, control arm bushings

It includes an OEM roof rack with basket and a Leather Z spare tire kit (tire, cover, jack)

If you think it is priced fairly and you are interested, please contact me directly by phone/text at 404-375-7688, or email at bosier@bellsouth.net.  We can of course discuss price, but I don’t need to sell the car - just thinking a 911 turbo would be interesting after 11+ years of driving the Coupe.  The car is located in St. Petersburg, FL.

This is definitely an interesting coupe. The S54 engine build is pretty amazing adding 100hp at the crank without forced induction. I'd love to try it out! It's full of other good upgrades like TC Kline double adjustable coilovers, Randy Forbes subframe kit, 3.73 diff, 6-speed transmission and a carbon intake. It has a lot of miles, but it's been very well taken car of. I think the price is fair, but it will take the right buyer to appreciate all it offers.
