I'm selling my 2000 M Coupe because I have a little one on the way and need a SUV for the wifey. She doesn't want me to get rid of it, but I can always get one down the road.
I bought the Coupe back in 2005 when it had 55K miles on it. It was my daily driver up until about 6 months ago so it has some miles on it. I live in the DC area so the front end is pretty chipped up as you will see in the pics. The car is a great performer on the autocross course even though it has some issues that I explain below. I will give some quick specs of the car and then get into the recent maintanence, modifications, and issues that the buyer should be aware of before buying the car.
Price: $7,300
Year: 2000 (built 4/99)
Exterior Color: Titanium Silver
Interior Color: Black
Miles: 130,300
Recent Maintanence:
1. Waterpump
2. Idler pulley and serpentine belt (or accessory belt for waterpump, alternator, etc)
Modifications done to the car:
1. Rear end reinforcement with dual ear diff. My father-in-law did the reinforcement and is a metal fabricator (has his own business for over 15 years).
2. 3.73lsd (little clunky but works like a charm)
3. M50 Manifold conversion
4. Painted Roadsters (need to be refinished because of chipping)
5. H&R Sport Springs and Bilstein sport shocks and struts.
6. IE Subframe bushings (Green)
7. Debaffled Intake box
8. Custom Catback and resonator delete(needs some cleaning up because of some burnt plastic from the bumper getting on the tips. Also both mufflers have one exhaust hanger broken so they are a little jiggly).
9. IE RTABS with marina lubricant (water proof so very little squeaking if any)
10. IE Rear Camber and Toe Correction kit. (Note: Last year, before autocross season, I changed out the RTABS and one of the IE bolts seized to the old RTAB and I had to cut it out. I also had to cut one of the IE tabs as well (this is passenger side camber adjustment) because that was the only way to cut the seized bolt. I didn't have the time to fix the issue because the car was my daily driver at the time and I needed it back on the road. The quick fix was to replace it with a generic bolt which I did. I have two spare IE bolts, but the buyer would need to buy a new tab and weld it in. The other tab is still in place. The car still did very well during autocross events.)
11. Front brakes are PBR Deluxe pads with Brembo blank rotors.
Maintenace issues:
1. Tires. I have all new four tires sitting in the garage for replacement but the current star specs on there are in need or replacement. The tires aren't near as good at star specs as far as performance goes, but if they buyer wants them then that is fine.
2. Rear Trailing Arm (passenger side which is the same side the issue with the IE kit is) is slightly bent. It has been this way since I bought the car. Since I have owned the car it has never been in any collisions. I don't have a carfax on it so I can't say for certain that it is an accident free car. The camber and toe correction kit can fix this problem if I modified the contact points to the subframe tabs (ths will pull the toe out enough to get it to 0). I have autocrossed the car for the last two years and this last year I was a top competitor despite the bent trailing arm. On a track you would most likely feel the toe in, but on an autocross course I didn't.
3. The shifter bushings need to be changed. It's not so bad that it's easy to miss a shift, but still needs to be replaced.
4. Rear brake pads and rotors need to be changed.
5. Rear bumper: Where the exhaust tips are there is some melting of the rear bumper. I planned on smoothing it out, but haven't got around to it. More than likely if someone wanted to repaint the car it would be a good idea to buy a new rear bumper. I would if I were keeping the car.
Other issues:
1. The paint: The car needs to be repainted to be frank. I did my best to point out all the flaws with the paint in the pictures provided.
2.. I removed the rear sub encloser pieces and no longer have them. I do still have the sub, amp, and rolling cover
