This 2001 BMW M Coupe has a CarFax verified 29k miles from new and is one of only 3 sunroof-delete cars produced in this color combination. The current seller purchased the car in 2013 and had it modified including a TC Kline coilover suspension, UUC lightweight flywheel, Jim Conforti Shark Injector stage 2 software upgrade, a 3.46:1 differential, and a cold air intake among other modifications. The car has been driven approximately 1200 miles since the upgrades and the seller has addressed any known cosmetic and mechanical issues including a reinforced subframe. All original parts needed to return to stock condition are included in the sale.
The exterior is in good condition with original Titanium Silver Metallic paint. There is some very minor road rash on the hood and front bumper but otherwise the paint remains free of any notable flaws. Exterior modifications include a 35% window tint, magnetic stone guards on the rear wheel arches, rear wiper delete, clear side marker lights, and a set of replica AC Schnitzer style front splitters.
All four original wheels have some curbing damage visible in the gallery below, most notably on the driver’s front wheel.
The interior is finished in rare Laguna Seca Blue with Black Nappa color combination. LSB is the rarest interior color for the M Coupe with only 24 examples produced, only 3 of which were Titanium Silver sunroof-delete cars like this one. The interior is in very good condition and the seller has made a number of repairs and modifications during his ownership:
Alpine Alarm System with remote
Reconditioned rear-view mirror to repair the auto dimming feature and bubbling mirror glass
A-pillar gauge pod with oil and water temperature gauges
M logo floor mats
Fire extinguisher with custom aluminum mount to passenger seat bottom
The carpets, dash, and seats are all in good condition and show little wear, reflecting the low mileage.
The original S54 engine is in good condition, with all maintenance up to date. The valves were adjusted at 27,547 miles and the engine oil was recently changed. The transmission and rear end fluid has been changed to Royal Purple synthetic. The seller has added the following mechanical repairs and enhancements:
Jim Conforti Shark Injector ECU upgrade with Stage 2 software
Rogue Engineering light weight pulleys
UUC lightweight flywheel with performance organic clutch kit
Clutch Delay Valve delete
Ireland Engineering urethane transmission mounts
3.46:1 Limited Slip Differential
Cold air intake
Mechanical fan delete, replaced by 16″ Spal electric fan
Stainless steel clutch and brake lines
New power steering pump
New ignition coils and spark plugs
The suspension has been modified with the following aftermarket parts:
Rogue Engineering RACEBRACE front strut tower brace
Rogue Engineering rear shock mounts
TC Kline True Match Coilover Suspension with adjustable ride height and 500# front and 600# rear spring rates
TC Kline front Camber Plates
H&R Front Anti Sway Bar
AKG rear subframe urethane mounts
Ireland Engineering rear trailing arm urethane bushings
The seller says the upgrades have significantly improved the handling, and though the ride is stiffer than stock it remains reasonably compliant. All stock components were retained and will be included in the sale.
The rear subframe mounts were inspected and verified to be in good condition with the original spot welds intact. The seller had the subframe reinforced as a preventative measure. A built-in battery charger is installed.
All original owners manuals and maintenance records dating back to the original window sticker are included with the sale, and a clean CarFax report can be viewed in the gallery below. The original 3.15:1 differential, stock air box, rear wiper assembly, mechanical fan, and suspension components are included in the sale, along with a custom car cover. The low mileage, rarity, and overall condition make this a compelling M Coupe.
