Seller Description

We purchased this beautiful '02 M Coupe from a local gentleman who had owned the car for the last ten years. The car had been sold new in South Dakota, moved to North Carolina briefly, then came to Illinois in 2010. What a blast this car is! Just over 65k miles, all stock with the exception of H&R springs and Bilstein B8 shocks. These cars are fun in S52 form, but the 315hp S54 combined with the super short wheelbase really makes this car a handful in the best way.

Exterior:
Please see the video along with the listing, as the car is shown in detail. Blemishes are all shown close-up. Blemishes include a scratch on the driver's rear quarter and some light road chips at the rear corners of the rockers consistent with 65k miles of road use. Estoril Blue Metallic paint is original with the exception of the hood, as confirmed with an elcometer. Unfortunately the color-matching of the hood isn't 100% perfect. It's definitely extremely close and the paint was clearly done properly, with a factory-like finish, but the color is ever so slightly darker than it should be. In daylight this color difference is not noticeable in any way, but when the car is under dimmer, low lighting you can see the slight difference. Wheels are in excellent shape, with a couple small chips on the driver's rear and no signs of wear on the other three. Michelin Pilot Super Sports are date-coded as being from 2015 and show little wear. Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free, lights and signals are all functional.

Interior:
Again, please defer to the photos and video. Interior is totally stock and unmodified. Heated sport seats are in excellent shape, very comfortable and supportive, and show no burst seams or punctures. Nothing more than very light wear. Door panels are in nice shape, no kicked-open markings or elbow dents. Dash top is free of any discoloring or damage, but the headliner-like material on the passenger A-pillar does show a bit of wrinkling (see photos). The headliner itself is clean and tight. Grey carpeting is nice and clean, no significant stains, fraying, discoloring, etc. Shift knob shows some minor wear, rest of the dash/cluster presents very well. Gauges are all functional and the odometer reading of 65,110 is accurate. Alpine radio sounds great—speakers are all in good order, heat/fan is functional, R134 air conditioning blows nice and cold. The sunroof, while you can hear the motor turning when you hit the button, does not open. This car does have a traction/stability control off button, for those who care to live on the edge.

Underbody/Under the Hood:
Please take a look at the underbody photos, as the car is documented in detail. Bilstein B8 performance shocks and H&R springs were new in 2015. No through rust or damage, just some surface oxidation on various suspension components from regular road use.

These cars are seriously special on the road. Very lively, responsive, and confidence inspiring. The S54 is held in such high regard for a reason. The car sounds fantastic, accelerates so, so smoothly, has excellent ride quality, shifts nicely, has great clutch feel, great brakes, and is overall just an enjoyable place to be. No noises or tendencies of concern. Buy with confidence, this awesome car is ready to be used and enjoyed straightaway.

This coupe was on Craigslist briefly last year. It has just 1k new miles since then. It's nice to see photos of it this time around. It has Bilstein/H&R suspension combo and aftermarket head lights. On the downside the tires are getting older and the sunroof isn't working. The price seems ok.
