This 2002 BMW M Coupe is one of just 121 examples produced for the North American market that were finished in Steel Gray Metallic and powered by a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a glass sunroof, 17″ Style 40 wheels, black and gray Nappa leather upholstery, air conditioning, cruise control, a weighted ZHP shifter knob, and a BMW Business CD stereo with a Harman/Kardon audio system. The car was acquired by the seller in July 2017, reportedly from the original owner, and it was previously offered on BaT in September 2020. A subsequent service consisted of replacing the camshaft position sensor. This E36/8 M Coupe has 109k miles and is offered with factory literature, a window sticker, service records, an unused set of BMW floor mats, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Virginia title.
The car is finished in Steel Gray Metallic (400) and features an electric tilting glass sunroof, fender vents, chrome kidney grille surrounds, and quad exhaust outlets. The seller states that the rear hatch struts and the third brake light were replaced in July 2020.
The 17″ RoadStar wheels are finished in Shadow Chrome and are mounted with staggered-width Continental ExtremeContact tires that were reportedly installed in July 2020. Other service at that time is said to have included replacement of power steering hoses. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, and the car is equipped with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC).
The cabin features black and gray Nappa leather upholstery on the heated seats, center console, and door pulls along with matching carpets and M-embroidered floor mats. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, a weighted ZHP shifter knob, a lockable glovebox, and a BMW Business CD stereo with a Harman/Kardon audio system. The plastic dead pedal has a crack, the driver-side outboard climate control vent is missing a clip, and a video showing the operation of the passenger-side power window can be seen here. An unused set of BMW M floor mats are included in the sale, and the air conditioning system was reportedly flushed and recharged in July 2020. The driver-seat bushings were recently replaced.
The M-Sport steering wheel features two-tone stitching and frames a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates under 109k miles, approximately 4k of which were added by the seller.
