This 1999 BMW M Coupe has been registered in California from new and was reportedly acquired by the seller three years ago. The car is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a two-tone gray and black leather interior and powered by a 3.2-liter S52 inline-six fitted with an Active Autowerke Stage 3 supercharger paired to a five-speed manual transmission. Additional modifications include Supersprint long-tube exhaust headers, a short shift kit, an M50 intake manifold, a rear subframe reinforcement kit, a front strut brace, and more as described below. Approximately 4k of the 154k indicated miles have been added by the seller, and the car completed a California emissions test in January 2020. This M coupe is offered with a Carfax report and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
This example is one of 276 M Coupes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic for the North American market, just 105 of which were equipped with a two-tone gray and black leather interior. The seller reports that the left front fender was repainted due to blemishes and the rear bumper was refinished following a rear impact accident during previous ownership. ACS Composite front splitters and a chrome trunk latch surround have been added, and the seller reports that clear coat has been applied to the headlights.
Staggered-width 17″ Style 40 alloy wheels were finished in satin chrome from the factory and wear Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Suspension modifications are said to include Lemforder front control arms with AKG Motorsport bushings, Vorshlag camber plates, Ireland Engineering rear subframe and trailing arm bushings, Ireland Engineering weld-in rear camber adjusters, a Randy Forbes rear subframe reinforcement kit, and a front strut brace.
The seats are trimmed in two-tone dark grey and black Nappa leather. A two-compartment center console has been added along with a re-covered E36 sport steering wheel, a short shift kit, and a ZHP shift knob. The Becker Traffic Pro radio with navigation shows dead pixels and is linked with an aftermarket trunk-mounted subwoofer and amplifier.
The odometer shows under 154k miles, approximately 4k of which have been added by the seller over three years of ownership. A VDO boost gauge has been added in place of the clock in the center stack.
The S52 inline-six has been fitted with an Active Autowerke Stage 3 supercharger kit, which includes a Rotrex C38 supercharger, an intercooler, and an oil cooler. An M50 intake manifold has also been added, as has a Behr three-core radiator, Supersprint long-tube exhaust headers, Vorshlag engine mounts, a Snow Performance methanol injection kit, and an aftermarket ECU. The rear O2 sensors have been removed, and the water pump and thermostat were reportedly replaced in 2017.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox and a Wanganstyle-built rear differential. Additional photos of the underbody can be viewed in the gallery below.
The Carfax report lists damage to the rear of the vehicle in June 2010 and displays registration in California.
