Seller Description

This 2001 BMW M Coupe shows just over 82k miles and was purchased new at Weatherford BMW in Berkley, California. It was relocated to Austin, Texas in 2009 by the second owner and then returned to California in 2010. The current owner purchased the car in 2014 and has added 3k miles. Power is provided by a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, and TC Kline coilovers have been added to this car along with front camber plates. Service was conducted at Bay Area BMW dealerships through 2007, and maintenance during current ownership included repair of the shifter pins, an oil service, replacement of motor and transmission mounts, new clutch hydraulics, and replacement of the MAF sensor in 2017. This M Coupe is now being sold by the current owner’s fiancé with Carfax and AutoCheck reports and a clean California title.

The car is one of 338 M Coupes produced for the model year and one of 363 in total finished in Titanium Silver Metallic over black. A few stone chips are visible on the front bumper, and the Carfax notes a California accident report filed sometime prior to 2006. The seller states that the hood was replaced and the radiator support shows no signs of damage. Other panels are said to retain matching VIN tags. The AutoCheck report is accident-free.

Staggered-width 17″ Style 40 alloys are finished in Shadow Chrome, which is flaking in places, and added wheel spacers push the wheels out 15mm in the front and 10mm in the rear. Nitto NT05 tires measure 225/45 up front and 255/40 out back.

The interior is trimmed in Black Nappa leather (Q6SW), with leather accents on the doors and console. A 6-disc CD changer and Harmon Kardon audio system are equipped, and a leather-wrapped UUC Motorworks RK6 shift knob has been installed. 82,269 miles are shown on the digital odometer.

Power-adjusted seats show some creasing and flattening on the outboard bolster edges.

The rear cargo area houses storage and a tool kit beneath the floor. A pinhole in the trunk floor sealant was discovered on a recent shop visit, though the seller was advised it is currently not a major issue.

The 3.2-liter S54 inline-six was factory-rated at 315 horsepower and is paired with a ZF five-speed manual transmission. The car was maintained by the seller personally with regular oil changes and a new MAF sensor over the last 3k miles. The clutch slave and master cylinders were recently replaced along with motor and transmission mounts, and a high pressure power steering hose. A new battery was installed six months ago. Transmission shift pins were replaced in 2015 by Edge Motorworks of Mountain View, California, and a smog check was most recently passed in March 2016.

The underside can be seen above and in gallery photographs below. TC Kline single-adjustable coil-overs have been installed along with adjustable camber plates, and the removed Bilsteins and factory springs are included with the sale.

Carfax and AutoCheck reports can be seen in the gallery below and show California and Texas registration over three owners. The Carfax mentions an accident that likely occurred between 2002 and 2005, though the incident is not noted in the AutoCheck report.

It looks really good for 82k miles. You can tell it's been well taken care of. The replaced hood is kind of a bummer, but the condition and TC Kline coilovers more than make up for it to me. Having the shift pins already done is another big plus. Bidding is at $15,500 so far.
