2000 BMW Z3 M Coupe
Estoril Blue with Oregon Beige interior.
151,000 miles
Asking $12,000
She was my dream car from when I was young (this exact color combo), and after five years and 25k miles together, it's time to find her a new home. Two young kids and a new short commute have prevented me from really enjoying the car as of late.
The car is in decent condition. M Coupes mostly came with similar options. This one has the S52 (3.2L I6, 240hp) engine from the E36 M3, tan/beige leather interior, and the sunroof. AC, heated seats.
Recent service:
New pads and rotors in the last 500 miles.
At 143k - New clutch, trans shift pin service, O2 sensors, all drivetrain fluids to Royal Purple.
Around147k miles - New inner/outer rod ends and alignment.
At 130k/135k, new Front/Rear tires - Toyo Proxes P4 Plus. Lots of tread left (all commuting miles).
Around 130k - new valve cover gasket.
On-time oil changes with Mobil1 0w40 full synthetic.
Carfax shows a head gasket, water pump, etc. replacement around 125k before I owned it. Lots of other service at Irvine BMW in the car's history, 2006-2011.
No major mods.
Issues with the car:
In 2004-5 (from Carfax) - Front drivers-side accident. There is evidence that the corner was pulled-out and there is visible flushing under the hood on that corner. An airbox crack/break was apparently repaired with glue/sealant. I added camber/caster plates to correct tracking and tire wear. The paint on the front bumper is peeling, likely from when it was replaced.
The heat selector switch does not function, and I seasonally set it to hot or cold (common issue, knob mechanism and cable need replaced).
The headlight switch stopped illuminating the dash, except on rare occasion when you wiggle the knob just right (the switch/rheostat needs replaced).
The rear quarter-panel clear coat is peeling, as well as one or two other minor spots.
Les Schwab mentioned that it could use a front new wheel bearing.
A mechanic looked at it and saw no rear sub-frame issues a few years back, and I have not driven it hard or tracked it.
She's far from perfect, but a great daily driver that I've loved, but no longer have the time for. Listed for $12,000 OBRO, local sale only. This is an honest ad, looking for someone who wants to tinker with and drive their attainable dream car, as she was for me. Available by appointment to show in Mukilteo during the day and evening.
Hat tip to MCoupeBuyersGuide.com - a phenomenal resource for researching and comparing these cars. It's where I found this car five years back.
Thanks for looking.
