I’ve had a couple people who have had success buying or selling a coupe on this site ask if I would accept small finders or sellers fees. Of course I’ll accept, but do not feel in any way obligated. M Coupes are a passion of mine and while this site takes quite a bit of work to maintain, I really do enjoy all of it.

Guarantee: All money donated to this site will never be used to pay for time, web hosting, etc. It will all be deposited directly into my “Coupe Fund”.

This one has sold as well. Called the dealer.

Going to try and pick up the one in Chicago for 18k. Looks nice.

Thanks once again for the update. The one in Chicago would be one of my top choices. The previous owner’s photo is still my windows icon (has been since 2005 or so) and the current owner has taken very good care of it. Good luck!

    @Jon Martin
I have to say that I feel very lucky to have gotten this car. My then girlfriend (now wife) and I have thought M Coupes were one of the best looking cars of all time. Now that we are a bit older (and have jobs), the time had come to finally get one. As with many people who visit your site, I have been looking for a long time to find the “right one”. This one was it. The only compromise was not getting an imola red interior, but the care the previous owner took with the car more than made up for that.

Thanks again for maintaining such a great site! Your passion for these cars helps all of us with similar obsessions.

I appreciate it Eric. I love hearing stories of people like me who looked long and hard for the right one and finally found it. Email me some photos sometime.

    Listed as Sunroof-Delete but I don’t think that’s correct.

Glad to see the description and VIN info finally corrected for this one. It’s NOT the pre-production 1998 Arctic Silver / Kayalami Coupe, nor is it a sunroof-delete. Just a color conversion using aftermarket seat covers.

    • March 4th, 2012 at 19:50 | #9

Yep, I confirmed with the seller. The original interior was dark gray and black. All the interior pieces are OEM other than the seats, which are honestly probably better quality than the originals.

I just found this one listed in Detroit Craigslist under auto parts.

Great! You got a price out of them. They wouldn’t give one to me. At least it’s a lot better than $60k.

Jon, I’m not sure if you’re aware but ES Motorsports of Greensboro, NC owner was arrested by the North Carolina DMV for all sorts of illegal activity. I know they advertise alot of cars on your site and I feel that buyers should be aware.

Yeah, I’ve seen that. I’ve warned everyone who has ever mentioned looking at their cars for years that they’re a little shady. I just didn’t want to post specifics publicly. Thanks for the heads-up!

I called about the M coupe in Eugene Or. yesterday, April 4, 2012, and was told that an employee had been our on a joy ride and bent a rear tire rim, that a new rim was on order that that once installed the salesperson would call. I would like to see and drive the car, but, have some concerns about the noted accident, the bent rim and what else might have been damaged and the number of times the car has traded hands.

The M coupe in Eugene has a broken passenger side front rim and tire damage. The passenger side rear wheel sits at about a 30 degree angle with the contact patch towards the differential, interesting camber set up. Apparently the dealership had problems locating the rims and the car has been sitting for some two months and could not be started. Also, the passenger side window only sits on the inside of the window seal; at the front third or so, the rest of the window sits outside the seal. I would appreciate any thoughts or comments.

    Hi,

I just found your site. Very interesting. I have a 2002 steel metallic, red & black interior. VIN LK61255. I bought in new, and my sons know (they want it badly) that I am going to be buried in my M-Coupe. Actually, it was my older son’s idea to buy one ( showed me a picture online i think); and I had always wanted an MBG-GT coupe, so this M-coupe fit the bill. It’s been a fantastic car. Always starts, goes fast, and gets the stares.

My advice, buy any coupe you can find! Don’t wait for the color and interior particulars as I believe they will sky rocket in price in next 5-10 years. Look at the numbers produced, drive one to the beach on a back, curvaceous road and snatch one up now. I will probably buy another one just for investment purposes.

    Happy motoring..

Thanks for commenting Steve. I always have my eye out trying to find the other 23 in our color combination. I can see myself buying a second one someday too :) .

    John -

I bought an Evergreen Coupe last summer that was listed on your wonderful website. I noted your most recent Evergreen listing sez that you have never posted one of these cars before. I’m not trying to be picky, just providing some detail for accuracy.

My article on Dorkfest of 2011 was published in Roundel, in the April issue. I praised you and your website in the article.

I’m still enjoying my Evergreen coupe just like a little kid on Christmas morning with his wishtoy, and the color elicits amazement frequently.

I bet spring in CO is beautiful!

Hey Mike! I actually said there has not been an evergreen with evergreen interior posted yet. Yours has black interior right?

I saw your article, and I really appreciate the mention! I’m hoping I can pick up an extra copy from someone as I’m still not a CCA member yet (on my to-do list).

I’m glad you’re still enjoying your coupe. I feel the same way about mine too. Are you coming to Dorkfest again this year?
